Parenting and need support or resources?

Many agencies in the community provide a wide array of services for pregnant and/or parenting women and teens who seek help in their role as parent. Get Real with Yourself provides pregnancy education, including education about adoption and parenting options. Get Real provides case management and support to help you make a plan for your baby, whether you want to parent, or make an adoption plan. You can contact Get Real, 1-877-747-REAL or GetReal@lfcs.org, if you would like assistance in accessing these and other resources.

  • Building Blocks, call 314-679-7880 or 314-679-7871 for information. Building Blocks is a supportive and educational service offered through the St. Louis Health Departments for first time expectant moms.
  • Child Day Care Association (CDCA), call (314) 351-1412 or 800-467-2322 – Would you like information about day care providers, or do you need help finding one that you trust to take care of your child? CDCA can help. You can also view their website for information.
  • Child Support – The Missouri Family Support Division can help you file for child support. Call 1-800-859-7999 or view their website for more information.
  • Family Resource Center, 314-534-9350: Call for information about parenting classes and other family support services, or check out their website for information and some helpful parenting tips.
  • Lutheran Family and Children's Services of Missouri (LFCS), 314-787-5100 or 1-866-326-LFCS: LFCS has a wide range of services to parents and potential parents. Call for more information, or visit their website.
  • Missouri Department of Social Services (DSS) Toll Free Number, 1-800-392-1261: Call for information and eligibility for Food Stamps, Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF), Medicaid and other state programs.
  • Nurses for Newborns, (314) 544-3433: Call to find out about this home visiting nursing program. A nurse at your prenatal clinic or the hospital where you deliver should have information about this program too.
  • Parentlink, 1-800-552-8522: Provides information and answers to parenting questions.
  • Parents as Teachers, (314)-432-4330: Call for more information, or ask about details from your school district, about this early education intervention program.
  • Redevelopment Opportunities for Women, Inc (ROW), 314-588-8300: Call to find out about ROW’s parenting classes and other programs to support and empower women and families. You can also view more information on their website.
  • WIC (Women Infants & Children) is a great resource if you or your children are at nutritional risk. The program provides supplemental food, nutrition education and referrals for eligible pregnant, breastfeeding and postpartum women, their infants and children (up to 5 years) risk.
