Where am I?

pregnancy

Now What?: questions to consider

THINK ABOUT WHAT is IMPORTANT TO YOU.

The following questions will help you consider what is best for you and your child and help you develop a plan for this pregnancy and the life of this child thereafter. Take some time to carefully consider these questions and maybe write down your thoughts today and again a few months from now to see if anything has changed. This may also be a great tool to use with your partner or friend in helping to make decisions that are best for you and your child.

  • What do I want out of life?
  • What do I want my life to look like in 5 years?
  • Am I ready to give up the freedom I have to do what I want to do when I want to do it?
  • Who is really going to be there for me when I need help?
  • Can I afford to support a child?
  • Is it fair to expect others to support my child and me?
  • Do I get along with my family?
  • What if the child’s parent moves on to another relationship?
  • How would I handle being a single parent?
  • How would parenting a child change my educational plans?
  • Do I enjoy children?
  • Am I patient enough to deal with the crying, feeding, diapering 24 hour a day responsibility of a child?
  • Do I have transportation?
  • How would I discipline the child?
  • What do I want for this child that I did not have growing up?
  • What choice would help me achieve my goals?
