Where am I?

pregnancy

Now What?

You need to take care of yourself and your baby. Even if you have not decided what you are going to do about the pregnancy, you still need to take care of your body.

  • Discontinue the use of alcohol, recreational drugs and tobacco products. Some prescription and over-the-counter medications should not be taken during pregnancy, so check with your doctor immediately.

Secondly and most importantly,

CONSIDER YOUR OPTIONS

Making decisions about your pregnancy can be very difficult. Whether choosing a parenting plan, an adoption plan or terminating your pregnancy, there are NO EASY ANSWERS. However you do have choices and we hope to provide a multitude of information to you to assist you in making the best possible decision for YOU and YOUR CHILD. Services like ours help young parents throughout the pregnancy.

First thing is finding someone to talk to who has good and accurate information about your options. As soon as you tell your friends, boyfriend, or parents, everyone will have an opinion as to what you should do. While it is good to involve those special people in this BIG decision, having many different opinions becomes overwhelming and sometimes interferes with making the best choice for you and your baby!! Please remember that this is ULTIMATELY YOUR DECISION.

Most young women and men find it very helpful to talk to someone who is a professional. While some professionals may have a bias as to what you should do, our counselors are trained to be unbiased and non-judgmental. to talk to an expert, call 1-877-747-7325 or email GetReal@lfcs.org
